It's very hard for me to write this, but I feel that I need to. Our three year old Giant Schnauzer, Zoe, passed away this morning. We took her to the vet yesterday and they kept her overnight, and we just got the call. She died of Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia, here is a link for those who don't know what it is- http://www.geocities.com/aihadogs/index.htm. Here is a picture of her, it's not good but it was always hard to take a picture of her because she was so black.

So sorry for your loss. I have three Giants and a Mini; I'm sure Zoe has left a huge whole in your heart.
Thank you Francine! Our whole family misses her a lot.
My heart is aching for you.
I have a mini schnauzer who was diagnosed with AIHA at age 6. He's now 14-- we obviously got him over the hump, but it wasn't easy. We also have 2 Giant schnauzers. The only good thing about AIHA is that the dogs don't seem to suffer, they just kind of fade out. :(
